For those of you who've not come across Regretsy, their tagline is 'Where DIY meets WTF' and it's a pretty good description. I think most of us who look at etsy have thought 'Are you serious?' or 'Pffft! As if that's handmade' or 'HOW MUCH? !!!' Regretsy is a blog/site which features the more ridiculous side of etsy, from those 'Handmade, One of a Kind, when it's gone it's gone' items which we all know were bought in bulk, or are featured on some other site for $100 less, to the utterly bizarre things people not only offer for sale, but people actually buy (rocks covered in blackboard paint, a variety of 'magic' sticks' etc. It is very funny at times, but it does feature a fair bit of swearing and since there are a lot of them sold on etsy for some reason, there's often a variety of private parts made from interesting materials. One really nice thing they do is feature the really great/deserving artists they come across and highlight stores/sellers to give them a boost/free publicity www.regretsy.com/

I must take a look at this. It seems I'm not alone with my thoughts on Etsy.
Though there are some unique, beautiful and very well made items; for the most part it's overpriced, over-rated and mostly rubbish.

I got a real laugh out of the leg warmers on the chair legs. There are bazaar things for sale everywhere and there are definitely lots of overprice junk for sale. On the other hand if someone is willing to pay you $125 for a stick with junk tied to it why not sell it. should i be ashamed that I own an orange satin unicorn horn on a green headband. my excuse is I was young when I bought it. )

I must say, when I see some of the crap on there-like the sticks with junk tied to it- I really feel like making my own to sell I don't think you be ashamed that you own own an 'orange satin unicorn horn on a green headband', Ann, as long as you don't wear it with something that clashes.
