I think freezer paper used to be very popular but ziploc bags have taken over...
Wil have to remember the freezer paper ironing-on-prefelt-trick, but first I would have to locate the freezer paper!

Groceries stores still sell freezer paper.

Yes, I have a large roll of the stuff. I have no idea why. Story of my life

That sounds all too familiar Elizabeth, I've lost count of the number of products / techniques I've read about, thought I would like to try, buy the product, only to find it again 6 months later and wonder what I bought it for. Is this the early signs of dementia? For those keen to try, I found my freezer paper on eBay but I think it is on Amazon too or if you ask Elizabeth nicely she might be able to spare some

I was just about to ask where you got yours, Teri, I've searched for it here for years and know we don't sell it in usual shops.
Your piece is absolutely gorgeous, Teri! I wouldn't change it.

Zed, quilting/needlecraft shops also usually sell it (although there aren't many left) but it's relatively expensive here. Most economic to buy on a roll if you can, not in packs of A4 sheets.

Gorgeous piece of felt. I am not sure I could cut it out that neatly if it was just the paper. Dos the butcher paper peal off without leaving plastic on the felt or stretching the prefelt?

Is butchers paper the same as freezer paper Ann?
I was surprised by how well the freezer paper stuck to the felt, even after wetting it out and leaving it for 24 hours it was still pretty firmly attached when I flipped the felt over, I had to carefully work around it, pinning the felt down with one hand while peeling the paper off with the other.

Sorry, forgot to say, there was no plastic residue on the felt but there were some felt fibres stuck to the paper after I peeled it off.

I think butcher paper is different than freezer paper. I think it is thicker.
