Has anybody tried using fabric pens on wool roving?
I learned that lead pencils don't work, but am gonna try to use two different types of fabric ink pens.

I haven't but have you thought of the water colour pencils? I wonder if they might work.

I haven't either. Are you just marking something or coloring in to create a certain look? I would think ink would be permanent.

I have used ink pens to color in spots occasionally on a felted piece. They work fine but can spread more than you want if you're not careful. I haven't tried it on roving but I'm sure it would work. What are you trying to do?

I have used a water soluble fabric pen ( the kind dress makers use) with some success on prefelt to mark out a pattern for cutting. I doubt they would work on roving or tops though. What are you trying to do wolfrott?

Yep, that's my plan, to outline an area to fill in with needle felting, to make it easier for me as I am also one-handed (no use of my left arm) then erase it!
I bought some Sewline fabric ink pens so I ll let you guys know how it turns out, complete with pics!

Update - my pens haven't arrived in the mail yet, so no review until they do :(
