I'm gradually improving my skills with my camera (although the most important thing, good light, is a fickle thing in the UK!)
To anyone wanting to get clear shots of their makes, I would advise investing in a tripod. I bought one from Amazon for £35 (approx $54), so it's not professional quality, but it's good enough. I cannot hold a camera steady enough for clear, close-up shots! Having a remote shutter release cable makes sure that the camera doesn't move at all, but if you can't get one, simply set your camera on its timer, so that after you've pressed the button, the camera has time to recover from the pressure of your hand before the shutter operates.
I could not have taken such a 'crisp' photo of Sydney without my tripod.

Wow, this is so creative! I love Sydney. I have some of that netting in my fiber stash, I might just try this. Liz

Sydney is just gorgeous Lyn. I love the contrasting textures and your signature "ice cream" colours too.

Wow, this is so creative! I love Sydney. I have some of that netting in my fiber stash, I might just try this. Liz Thank you! It would be good to see some different results if you do decide to try the nuno net. To give the wool fibres a fighting chance of migrating up through all the layers of net, use tepid soapy water and gentle agitation to start with. I didn't roll this piece because I worried that the netting (being stiffer than the wool) might pull away if it didn't stay flat during felting. So I felted and fulled the piece flat - just with rubbing.

Such a clever use of texture & colour for just the right result ... brilliant ! Only now I'll have to go & buy several diff colours of netting & it will join the long list of projects I am "about to do" !! Good advice about the photography !
