Hi everyone, i have been lurking for awhile here admiring all of the beautiful work. My name is Liz and I live in Ocqueoc, MI. My husband and I raise Alpacas. I am a fiber artist and use their fiber in all of my work. I do a little Nuno and wet felting. I do have a roller felting machine to make it easy on my back. I have made many scarfs and hats. I am interested in doing larger projects, such as ponchos, ruanas, jackets. Since I sell most things I make, I am trying to make more of a one size fits most, so that it is more sellable to my customers. i would post pics, but I will have to setup something to put up my pics. Does this site work with Instagram?
Liz

Welcome - looking forward to seeing your work - the third item down is on the main page is about posting pictures. It may say something about instagram.

Welcome Liz! Glad you have joined us. I'm not sure about Instagram. I would look to see on Instagram's information if they are compatible with bulletin board code (that's what they call this type of forum). I have never used Instagram so don't know any more than that.

Welcome fellow Midwesterner! As far as pictures, I don't know anything about Instagram, but if you can post a link it may work. Some of us use Flickr, Inpernity or just upload pics to the site. I look forward to seeing your work and please show us your alpacas.

Welcome, Liz, to the Forum! We hope to learn more about your alpaca projects. Nice scarf! Is it only alpaca or mixed fiber/fabric?

Welcome, Liz, to the Forum! We hope to learn more about your alpaca projects. Nice scarf! Is it only alpaca or mixed fiber/fabric? It is wet felted 100% alpaca, with some left over thrums from my weaving, (black alpaca yarns). When I am done with it drying, I shave any loose fibers, so that it does not shed. I have not done that yet with this one. I'll post another pic later when it is finished. Liz

Lovely scarf Liz. Thanks for posting the pic. I'd love to see a closeup. I've never used all alpaca.

Hello Liz. Your scarf is very pretty... I love felting with alpaca. I am from Western Michigan where abouts do you live??? Will you be attending the Michigan Fiber Festival in August??
