Very nice Cathy. I would probably add some hand stitching. You could definitely define the willow more with some more dark values.

That's nice, carole, is it getting easier to attach the clasps? I laid out a natural wools and fibres piece about a week or two ago and managed to felt it a few days ago. I used some handspun yarns on it too. That's cotton nepps and cotton fibre at the top: natural piece par Zedster01, on ipernity

Lovely clasp purse. I like the colours and the shape. Zed, this layout looks very nice. Has this piece already been felted? What is your expereince with cotton neps? Are they easier to manage than wool neps?

Thanks, all, and the Willows piece is approximately 14 x 20 inches.

Beautiful Cathy! How about a twisted chain stitch or feather stitch to define some of the branches in a darker color? I agree Cathy! It's very pretty, but stitching would highlight the motion in the colors.

I love the texture in your layout, Zed! Carole, thanks for adding yet another project to my long list. Those purses are wonderful!
I did some nuno felting last night for charity (no photos). A felting friend has an acquaintance who has been diagnosed with cancer. She sent my felting friend her stash of supplies. A bunch of us got together last night and felted scarves to sell for the patient's favorite charity.
It felt good to get back into it, so I pulled out some supplies and will play more tonight.

Carole, the purse is really cute. Zed, I love the textures in the natural piece. What I'll you do with it? Elizabeth, that's a great thing to use your talent for charity.

Fabulous neutrals and luscious textures, Zed. Would like to see a full view, if possible. Are the snaky looking pieces the handspun yarn?
Elizabeth, making for charity is a great feeling! I have felted several pet mats for local animal humane societies and always feel good about it. Your good works will not go unnoticed!

Thank you for your lovely comments, I didn't fold, what I actually did was make a heart shape with a resist, the cut along one edge about the size of the clasp then just stitched it into place - when the clasp was on the heart shape went out of the window. I got my clasps from amazon - these were more expensive than the other one I used, and I've bought some larger squarer ones - I'm going to get my workshop felting buddies to try them out and see how they get on.
Zed I love what you are doing with natural colours - just gorgeous.
Elizabeth you are so kind to do that, you know I bought a book recently I haven't had a chance to read it yet but it may be of interest Using Textile Arts and Handcrafts in Therapy with Women: Weaving Lives Back Together

Thanks, everyone Yeah, it's already felted. Nada, the cotton nepps are similar to wool nepps really, just smaller, they would work better blended or under as a texture, the fluffier ones attached better. Yep, the yarn is handspun, I made a few thick, 'rough', curly, loose yarns from scraps when I was having the kitchen done not so long ago, and found bits of others I made a while ago too.

I thought I might have to say I did not felt at all in June - but I did get to make a bowl today - will take pics when it is dry tomorrow. It felt good to have wet soapy hands again.

I've done some dyeing lately, cellulose fibres like Kapok, cotton, viscose and bamboo. I dread to think how high my water bill is going to be when I've finished!
