Welcome Rhonda! I'm glad you joined us. We would love to see some of your work so please feel free to share photos and ask questions and join in on the conversations here in our little community. Hi everyone! Thank you so much for the welcome. Ruth, I love your "Complete Photo Guide To Felting" book (but I will do my best not to act too star-struck. :-> ) Let's see... I did this free-hand, all from roving needle-felted directly onto wool: feltingandfiberstudio.files.wordpress.com/2016/10/1jxr4ffzdqgbnvvjfgtj.jpegSince then, I've beegen experimenting with "up-cycling" wool sweaters and felting them. This is another one that's just from my head as opposed to from a sketch, but it's with felted bits of sweaters from Goodwill. An owl and a pussycat will probably wind up in the boat at some point. I am deeply tempted to rip out and redo the sails, but I'm really happy with how the water turned out: feltingandfiberstudio.files.wordpress.com/2016/10/djeba0jhgyfn2zrhjkce.jpegAttachments:

What wonderful landscapes. Old sweaters do make a nice base for needle felting. If you don't like the sails, you probably should just go ahead and re-do them. That is the nice thing about needle felting is that you can "fix" any issues if you need to. And don't be star-struck as I am far from a star

Lovely pictures Rhonda! What a great idea to use an old sweater as a base!
