Frances, I love the idea of repurposing garments! And nuno-felting is a great technique for updating your cast-aways. When I learned nuno-felting, I cut up a perfectly wonderful black chiffon long skirt--never worn--with the tags still on. There was no way I would fit into a size 8 again, so I repurposed it for making an elegant black nuno-felt scarf.

Very cool! I like the idea of being able to change the look of the dress with a new collar. I really like the one with the tennis balls. I think the deflated look is great. Like you I'm not a dress person so I'd probably do the same and wear it with fancy pants.

Thanks for the comments - the dress with the bling still has the tags on it - I bought it 2 years ago to wear to party I ended up not attending and never really liked the bling. The black blouse I picked up on clearance recently and will use it alot especially with different trims at the neckline. I am thinking of doing what one of you did and cutting the dress to about hip length and using it as a top and then making something out of the chiffon I cut off. I can also take the bling off - it is sewn on and use it sparingly on something else. This is so much fun!!!!

I think we all buy things we loved at the time but which never get worn and stuck away out of sight!! You have come up with some great ideas. Beautiful.
