Okay...NEFS has no C1-pellsull in purple...if I layer cobalt over red will that look purple? I know its a weird question but its been a long time since I've blended fibers...and well I love purple.... (:

Hi Ali, have you tried making a sample? I'm not sure just laying one color over the other would work without blending it. Have you tried any other fiber sources for the color you want? Or are you in a hurry?

If you alternate colours & put a last very thin layer you should get a mix, in a heathery tone, but don't expect the lower colour to be as prominent as the top. Have a play!

I was thinking it would be more of a heather end look based on the blog post....I haven't bought them yet so no chance of experimenting. But I think I'm going to get C1 purple and C1/pelsull in other colors so I can try them both out. Eventually I'd like to order from WOW...but I think it would be valuable to have a better idea of what I like first. For the flat work I did in the past, I only used merino....so I really need to learn about coarse wools....

What I was using on my blog post was C1 and mixed blue and red to get purple. And it looks purple. The heather look is lessened when you felt it. I like the mixed colors better than the straight colors as I said in my post. More natural looking to me.

MTRuth...I have to agree they look better mixed...less 'flat'...more personality...hmmm...off to debate some more...my screen makes them look more heathered than they probably are in real life...
