Marilyn, they are beads (shiny aqua blue). It's a thrift store beaded silk shirt I found. I've found quite a few of those fun, yummy blouses & dresses.

I forgot to mention that the 'bumps' in some of the areas are silk cocoons that I put under the silk peices as a type of resist. I had to sand around them a bit, but they held their shapes. Frances - that's hysterical!
