I'm a felting addict and keep falling off my 12-step program on the first step! I swear I will not acquire more fiber and then I see something delicious on this site and start shopping for more.
I just entered the Felting world a little over a year ago when I took a class to make a nuno felted scarf. I was hooked! It's like painting with fluff!. I keep on taking classes over & over again because I don't have a good place at home to work in. I've acually considered adding a room/porch onto my house just so I can lay out a piece and not have the cats destroy it
This site is amazing.. so many wonderful ideas that I'll never have time to try them all.
Thanks.
Elizabeth

Welcome to the Forum, Elizabeth! As a felting addict myself, I do feel your pain (joy!) But you have come to the right place to discuss and show your felt projects. We would love to see your photos!
I use my kitchen counter for felting, which works quite well. When I began felting a couple of years ago, I would lay out my felt project to dry, and later in the evening I would find one of my two cats sitting right in the middle of the felt. I ended up making each cat a “cat mat,” which is just a flat square or rectangle they can sit on and feel the warmth and wooly-ness of the felt. No more problems!

Hi Elizabeth and welcome to the forum I know how you feel, I keep looking out my kitchen window at the two high fences either side of the house, and wondering how much it'd cost to buy some wood, plexiglass and corrugated roofing plastic to build a lean to out there! I decided to take over the living room instead since it's never used

welcome to the forum we are all fiber addicts. Cats are sometimes too helpful. Making them some matts and maybe some toys of their own might help. I used to felt in the house and now have a separate space. I think my family got tired of fibre in their food. I do not know why they are all ways telling us we need more fiber in our diets.

Thanks, Goddess and Shepherdess. The cat mat would not work because It's Not Mommy. They have to be by me until I bring the sander out. I might try a quick spritz with the sprayer :-). One has even discovered that sometimes there's a ball hidden under the towel so she has to excavate to find it. She also found a test rolag-ish thing that I made - killed it and came to me carrying it and telling me allabout it.
Zed - dining room is where DH has his bike & rowing machine. I have to save the living room for at least a little 'public' space. Besides, in the winter it's the greenhouse.
Thanks all!

Welcome to Fiber Addicts not So Anonymous! I've been relegated to the basement, but somehow there is fiber and embellishments, inclusions everywhere. Please share some photos. I know you'll find plenty of inspiration and creativity here on the forum and our blog. I look forward to seeing your addiction projects.

Very nice scarves Elizabeth. My first felt scarf was a yarn scarf, too. You need to have some wool content in most of the yarn or use wisps of roving over and or under to help it felt together. Thanks for sharing. They turned out great!
