Late October I got an unexpected comment on my blog on a post I wrote last year about felting a tomte (a Nordic version of a gnome/santa). It was from the Deputy Editor for Faerie Magazine (US). They were planning a story in their winter issue featuring a Tomte and wanted to share my craft tutorial on a one-page feature in the issue. :-) Unbelievable! And even more so considering that my post was only written in Swedish! ( Link to original post) I still don't know how they found me, but I guess that just shows the power of Google or Pinterest or whatever search engine / social network they used. The winter issue of Faerie Magazine has now been printed, including a short tutorial of how to felt a tomte. Need I add that I’m really glad to have been given the opportunity to contribute to this magazine? :-)

Thanks for the encouragement, all of you! Being based in Sweden, I am not targeting the US market, but it is still nice to be able to say "as featured in Faerie Magazine" (although I doubt anyone in Sweden has ever heard of the magazine). :-) Also interesting to find out that my basic photos taken with my cell phone were considered good enough for a magazine. Who needs a photo studio when you have a couple if hours of daylight and an iPhone...?! ;-)

Well I can't say everyone in the US has heard of Faerie Magazine either
