After lots of time spent unraveling my sari yarn, I saw on etsy that someone had 2 oz. of separate colors of recycled sari threads for $9. Sounded like a bargain to my sore fingers, so I ordered. I can't believe the amount of threads in each 2 oz. bag. Here is a pic of a piece of felt I made (please ignore the butterflies stitched on it) and a pic of the colors of sari thread I used when making the felt. butterflyfelt by pamd8, on Flickr The bags are 8 in. wide and puffy with threads. sarithreads by pamd8, on Flickr

Sarah, I got some sari silk a few years ago from ebay, but this site looks to have reasonable prices www.sarisilk.co.uk/I also got 'silk threads' from ebay, they look like cut pieces of thread, they're nice and shiny.
