Hello everyone, I just treated myself to a new book called The Fleece & Fiber Source book... I have been looking at this book for years and never thought it would be useful to me.. But I have learned over time how useful it can be to "Fiber" addicts.. Big smile. I have already read about several different sheep breeds that interested me... Just incase no one has seen this super book here is a photo of the front cover. I did did not realize that there were 7 different Merino sheep in just Australia... I also enjoyed reading about the "Herdwick sheep which has strong ties to the " English Lake District" and Beatrix Potter which I fell in love with thru her movie and books..I had no idea the Herdwick sheep Breed was so odd but sweet looking and also mysterious on where they really came from... I would highly recommend this book, it is good reading IMHO...... Sounds like a great book - I've seen it a couple of times but haven't had a chance to read it through.

Hello Tess, they say the Arapawa Island sheep has a Merino orgins. They say their wool is "Fine" (as delicate as 11 microns) and high bulk And felts well. The sheep have a tendency to shed.. It sounds like a lovely wool.

Hello Zed, I got the book from Amazon. It was $35.00 on sale for 51% off $16.99 with free shipping... I reckon it was a pretty good deal.. It is a very thick heavy book so the free shipping was great.. Smile.

My book came yesterday! It's brilliant I recognise it though, so I'm hoping I just had a good 'look inside' on Amazon once and didn't buy it and forget!
