Hello Nada, your early morning felted flowers are beautiful... I am not a early bird these last few year since being retired.. For 36 years I had to be up and on my way to work at 0500 so I really enjoy my sleeping in everyday.. Smile..

Lovely flowers, Nada!
Zed, I have always admired folks who can do the veggie thing, but I am not one of them. Old habits are hard to break. One of my sons was vegetarian for 18 months and then succumbed to old ways. However, both of us prefer fish to meat and limit dairy.
The fabric stash looks fab! That second photo almost looks at first glance like it could be a nuno-felted scarf!

Zed, you made a good haul. Is the middle fabric organza? I can't wait to see what lovely things you make with all that.
Nada, the flowers are pretty. Will they be brooches?
Cathy, on to bigger and better things no doubt.

Zed - your fabric looks great - looking forward to seeing what you make with it.
Nada - great flowers, it's nice to get up early sometimes and make stuff.
Cathy - great cat mats!

I made a pot cover this morning - it is a beautiful sunny day 78 degrees - so I am going out on the beach for a bit.

This is probably a 'dumb' question but what are cat mats? By the way I don't have cats so that is probably the reason I don't know.

I'm pretty sure that cat mats are just that - mats for cats to lay on - they like something snuggly.
Lucky you Frances! I suppose I could've gone to the beach too as we've had wall to wall sunshine today, but I didn't fancy sitting in my hat and coat - the temperature only just reached 4C (39F).

Great fabrics zed. I wish Abakhan had shops this side of the Pennines!

Lucky you Frances! I'm in California and it's cool here, no beach for me.

It's cold here - I think the high is supposed to be 10-12 degrees F. Tonight it is supposed to be -10 F.

Yes, Frances, the mats are cozy cuddles for cats and small dogs, too. Cats seem to love wool, so these flat mats are perfect for them. I also use them as furniture protectors; i.e., on the back of my sofa where they love to sit and watch the cars go by, and on my ottoman so it doesn’t get cat hair on it.

Lovely flowers, Nada I planned a whole load of cat mats for a fair I was meant to do, but luckily I found out it was cancelled before I made them! They look cosy, Cathy I know it's not easy being vegetarian in the US if you don't cook Quorn roast is about $10, Amy's stuff isn't cheap either. I don't even know what people do with meat, I cooked it once at school when I was 11 Abakhan is ace, I really am lucky! They do deliver, Judith, it's worth having a look online while the sale is on, or if you ever want me to go see if I can get stuff, let me know! All the fabrics in the photos are synthetic, I think the red is organza, it is very similar to a red/black one I already have, it was in a basket labelled 'organdy' which I think is a cotton version, and the one I have of that is softer/slinkier. The elephant piece is just because it's cool

The cat mats came about for me because when I first started wet-felting, I would set my project out on the kitchen counter overnight to dry. I noticed in the morning that the mat had been disturbed, or in one case, one of my cats was sitting on the mat like he owned it. So that’s how I started making cat mats.
I will have to take a look at Abakhan on-line, but fabric is one purchase I like to make in person. Gotta feel it! Otherwise, I do 99% of my shopping on-line.
There are more choices in the USA today for vegetarians than ever before. The Blind Faith Cafe has been a popular vege restaurant in Evanston--where I raised my family--for over 35 years. The challenge most folks have is getting enough protein in their diet AND finding enough like-minded friends. Going out to eat is so popular today but still can be limited for the vegan or vegetarian. BTW, Amy’s line of frozen foods isn’t bad, but I rarely buy them, preferring to cook from scratch most of the time.
