Meat having a lot of protein is a very old myth. Soya has 50% protein, some meat has as much protein as some other beans/pulses/legumes, but neither soya or beans have as much fat.

I like it all, I love food, hence my Rubenesk figure. Although I had vegi hotdogs ones that were just gross. Hard to think you could make a hot dog worse. LOL I love curried chick pea soup with coconut milk.

Hi! What did you think the pro/cons of Bergschaf batts are? I saw some nice ones at Opulent Fibers, and I'm trying to decide if I should get some. I'm planning on making pods with them. I decided to make some pods for Christmas gifts. Here are two of them: for the green one I used some remaining wool which I did not like at all (just see how hairy it is and the felt is rather soft). The blue one has been made of German Bergschaff wool which felts really well. It's fun making pods and trying different techniques and embellishments.

Your pods are great - Have not tried the batts from Opulent but everything I have purchased from them has been really nice.

I haven't tried that wool, but obviously Halay has and she has plenty of experience. Hmmm, I wonder now if the batts I ordered from Opulent are Bergschaff. If they are made into batts chances are they felt well. Go for it and report back. :-)

Ali, I think you'll be satisfied with Bergschaff. It gives very sturdy felt, so it should be suitable for making pods, as well as slippers or bags.

I purchased Icelandic to make slippers with from Opulent. I just realized I bought a 16 oz. - must of been thinking of really large slippers :-) - maybe I will start them tomorrow - we are getting a snow storm (4 - 5 inches) in North Georgia - very unusual weather for us.
