I'm so good at updating Facebook…and so bad at updating everything else. Those of you who do follow either FB or my blog will know that I am evolving my felting work now to include vessels I'm a terrible one for YouTube tutorials and Googling everything, so everything I've learned has come from that and here and from Zed's Flickr how to's! I'm trying to bring all facets of my art together, which isn't easy as I do too many things! I'm taking inspiration from Celtic legend and the coast, so everything will have a connection even if it's made using a different medium. So here we are. This was my first attempt at a 2D resist pod I was quite pleased with it. I've added wire and sea glass that I would normally use to make jewellery and named it 'The Horses of Mánannan Mac Lir'. For my second I used a rectangular resist and a lot of elbow grease. I'm really quite pleased with that! I've finished it off with some needle felting and have named it 'Cleena's Wave'. I'm currently working on a larger rounded pod that will sit low. I might put another smaller one inside it.

Thanks for posting these here. We love to see what you're doing. Your pods are beautiful. I especially like 'Cleena's Wave'.

Yes, they are certainly lovely pods! Naming them is half the fun, right?

They're both lovely but the pod really does it for me - it's beautiful and it's essence of the sea.

I like them both as well. Such different textures to them. I think I like the second one better but as me tomorrow and I may choose the round one.

Thanks Julie! Now I wouldn't tell you off, I like to encourage you to stop by. :-) You create such beautiful things, it seems a shame not to share them. And you've made so much progress it's always nice to see. It encourages the rest of us to try new things, too. :-)

Hello Julie, Very Lovely creations. I really like your Sea Theme, I love adding sea glass to some of my projects too. The few pieces of sea glass I have was sent to me from a lady in St. Ives Cornwall.. I cherish every piece.

Thanks everyone The project that I'm doing revolves around Celtic legends and myths of the sea. As I love the Scottish west coast this makes my choices of colours easier. I've been busily researching legends and these are fuelling sketches. I'm hoping to use fibres, metal, handmade paper and paintings as I progress through the project. I'm learning as I go, but I'm just loving the journey. Don't be surprised to see your own ideas adapted and incorporated! This forum is such a great source of talent, I'm relying on your knowledge to help me through.
