Hello everyone, this past January I Needle Felted a landscape I call Scottish Highland By The Sea. Inspired from the words I read in a book series called Hamish Macbeth by MC Beaton and the movie series that went with it. My DH family can trace their family heritage back the early 1600 in Scotland. I loved reading the book series and loved the movie just as much. I decided to get it matted and frame so I can hang it up in our living room. I used "Art Yarn" and many embellishments. I would love to hear what you all think.. Today I picked it up from the art store. Below is the landscape finally up on our living room wall. The frame is sea shells. No glass because it would of smashed all the 3D elements. I was please with how he did it. feltingandfiberstudio.files.wordpress.com/2016/09/mpmzbwjljtk6jociizp4.jpg

Judy, it turned out great. The frame really was a good choice, it highlights the sheep and waves in the picture. I imagine the bright reflection is just because of the flash and it's a lot less bright in person.

this is a really nice picture. I like sheep and the sea and the mountains and purple is my favourite colour so it all works for me.

It's a beautiful picture to hang in your living room and the framing really suits (I enjoyed M C Beaton's Hamish too - read all the books!)

Love your picture! The Highlands and Islands are very beautiful and this portrays them so well. I get the feeling you are a Scot ? I still have aspirations to felt a picture I might be happy to hang on the wall. I do have a little seascape hidden away in the bathroom, so not on general view!

Good Morning Everyone, it is a gloomy day here today, we will soon be getting a big thunderstorm. So before it arrives I would like to thank you all for your lovely comments. Judith my DH family heritage is from Scotland. So I dedicated this art piece to my Husband family,. The shades of purple is to represent the Heather that grows abundantly in the highlands. Ruth the felted piece is 16 inches wide and 11 inches in length. With the frame it is 22x17 so not all that big. When I took it to my first class all my students loved the "crofter cottage" high in mts. Yesterday was very sunny when I took the photo but the white pearl shells are very shiny too. Have a great weekend everyone.
