Hello everyone, Thanks Ruth for allowing me to join your Fiber Forum. I discovered your forum several months ago and I have enjoyed reading it very much. I just joined you all today. I am very happy to be here. A wee bit about me. I started needle felting in 2003 while living in Germany. i started wet felting off and on a few years ago. This past year I have taken several wet felting classes most recently Down at the Kentucky Sheep and Fiber festival this past May. I love to add embroidery stitching and beading to most of my art. I live in West Michigan along the shores of Lake Michigan. I have been retired for about 2 1/2 years and I am truly enjoying it. I just this year taught 2 needle felted landscape classes at our local "Artsplace" which was a lot of fun. You can see photos of the art my students made on my blog several posting back. My blog addy is: cjstitchingandblooms.blogspot.com I did not do a good job here but the photo is of a wet felted IPad case I made in May, feltingandfiberstudio.files.wordpress.com/2016/09/8k0whqmb6h9qkmcclefg.jpgI look forward to chatting and learning from you all. Thanks again Ruth for letting me join you all. Judy

Hello Ladies, thank you all for your warm welcome and your lovely comments. I am very excited to be able to chat with others who also love to felt. There is so much to learn in wet felting and the possiblities seem to be endless in wet felting. I have been attending the Michigan Fiber Festival for several years and this year I am taking a wet felted purse class and a Nuno Wrap class both taught by S. Higgs. Both are all day classes so I plan to learn many new techniques. Smile.
Lyn that little camper is pretty neat. It has everything you could possible want including air conditioning and a heater. It is great toll, you do not even notice your are pulling it. This I really like because when we had a bigger RV I was always so nervous pulling it even though I was never driving the truck for some reason I was never comfortable with it.
We are heading West in the Autumn and we are attending the Taos Fiber Festival in New Mexico which is one of the highlights for me then on to many other states. It is the year of our special wedding Anniversary and so we plan to our time and enjoy. I am a chatty one, smile. Hugs judy

How fun to attend the Michigan Fiber Festival and learn new techniques! We are attending our first fiber festival in August--the Midwest Fiber Fair in Grayslake, IL. I am particularly interested in seeing the different breeds of sheep. Guess you could plan a trip and hit several fiber festivals along the way…what a great idea!
Look forward to seeing your class work from the Michigan Fair!

Hello Ann. I had a Facebook account many years ago for only about 3 weeks and then closed it.
Hello Cathy, how exciting that you all are having your first Fiber Festival. Have heaps of fun. I just love attending fiber festival so many wonderful and creative people to meet and the fibers are to die for. LOL.
The Michigan Fiber festival is so much fun. This year I am taking two wet feling classes and for the first time camping at the fair grounds so I can take in more of the festival. It is held the middle of August.

That sounds like fun Judy. You'll have to take pics and give us a rundown of the fair and classes. If you'd like to do a blog about it, let one of us moderators know. We love having members talk about some new things. Have fun!
