Your matting looks great on the tree. Were you thinking of a wood frame or black or something else? I'm going to look for a thin wood frame then I'll root through my husband's paints until I decide on a colour! Black is a possibility.

Great technique for mounting Lyn. The picture looks wonderful.

Thanks Ann - it just sort of evolved as I fiddled with the piece of mount board and the piece of felt. I think it would work well with fabric art.

I decided to give Monets- Impression Sunset a try since I am a bit obsessed with sunsets right now. Here is the background, lots of blending and some silk for highlights. All needle felted and ready to wet felt.

And here it is after wet felting: I tried not to be too fiddly or fuss with it too much. I have always loved Monet, so this opportunity was wonderful. I have been so inspired by this wonderful group that I just started a new web-site (mainly to host images, lol!) and this challenge was my first post! You can see more pictures at Tuckamoorwildcrafts.com Thanks!

Lois, that's really super - I particularly like the sun's reflection in the water, the perfect amount of 'wobble'. I took some sunset photos this week over the sea but haven't braved the felt painting part, due to the difficulty in depicting the sun on the sea - you've done it so well. Think you may have inspired me to do a little needle felting prior to the wet felting, I can see how the shapes stay better.

Thanks! Yes I always do a little bit of needle felting prior to wet felting a piece, even if its just to slightly tack things in place. It has certainly made the wetting down and rolling less terrifying!

It's beautiful Lois - I love the way/colours you've 'painted' the sky! Claude would be envious of your version.

Lois, this is simply wonderful. Good idea to do some needle felting to keep fibres in place

Wonderful! I love it and it is perfect for the Monet challenge. I'm glad you are inspired - so much fun to have inspiration and passion about what you're creating!
