People who don't make things by hand could do with reading this - maybe print it out and put it at the front of your stall? link

It makes the rounds in several forms. It is a good description of why to buy hand made. Y

Can we add a ps of and if we've made it look so easy you think you can make it yourself, go ahead, and after you've spent twice as much money, 3 times as much time and never want to use your hands again, come back and let us know

All of those comments above are what keeps me from ever wanting to do a fair! My younger sis used to do craft fairs (macrame back in the early 80's) and she's got some great (bad!) stories to tell.
A friend of mine who grew up in the rural South tells me that as kids, they treasured the "store-bought" white bread, while they turned up their noses at mom's homemade brown bread. Funny how these things go.

There are more happy, friendly, interested people than rude ones. You just have to realise they are there to turn their nose up at everything. They probably don't even want to be there. You just smile and encourage them on their way out of your booth. They are not customers.

I imagine most people just mutter about making it themselves while they're sat at home looking up gorgeous hand made things on Pinterest, Cathy My mum used to tell us warm bread gave you tummy ache, just to make her home made bread last longer than an hour

Mine did too zed, and that's what I told my children, whilst I sliced off a chunk when noone was looking and smothered it in butter. Must stop, I'm dribbling on the keyboard!
