Good morning, I've been 'lurking' for quite a while on this forum, it's excellent, so thought it was about time I joined so I can join in! I discovered wet & nuno felting about 3 years ago & absolutely love it, along with a little silk painting. I'm British but live in Crete, Greece, so I don't have local fellow felters; isn't the 'net amazing for sharing.
I'm going to dive straight in with a question about mounting (once I've read up on how to add a photo).
Thanks for having me!

Thanks for joining us jwugg. Nothing wrong with lurking but I think you learn a lot more when you participate. I am looking forward to seeing your work and hearing your question about mounting. The internet is really amazing and I have met some wonderful people that I have never met in person but who I feel are my real friends.

Welcome to the Forum, jwugg! I have been to the beautiful island of Crete and envy you for living there. I recall sheep grazing there but I don't know the breed. Do you get your wool from Greece or elsewhere? Look forward to seeing some of your felting work.

Thanks for the welcomes, everyone. The sheep here in Crete are not really shorn for their wool unfortunately; I don't know the breed name, but the fleece is very rough, only just spinable for rugs/rough bags. Sadly, most gets thrown away. So, no, no local wool for me - I'm a big fan of World of Wool in Halifax England !

It's such a shame that the sheep's wool in Crete goes to waste. Time for someone to do some cross-breeding! There are huge fans of WOW on this forum, but I have personally never ordered from them. Looking forward to viewing some of your felting projects.

Thrown away?!! You should tell them there's a market for even coarse fleece, we don't all just make scarves! WoW fan here, too
