I haven't used any of these cutting machines but I follow several blogs where people have them. There are some made specifically for quilters to cut out their shapes for them. This one look like more of a general machine. What were you considering using it for?

I don't have anything in mind. My sister in law has a cricut machine and showed me how to use hers, but she only uses it for paper. I thought the fact you could scan or draw your own designs might be kind of cool. It's got too big a price tag now without having a specific use for it. As usual, I'm curious. :-)

They do sound cool but I've never come up with a good reason to buy one.

Cricut had a real thing going selling those cartridges. This new technology is a whole new level of creativity and freedom. It's good to know the cricut cuts fabric. It's too bad my sister in law lives in Texas I'd use hers if I needed it. ;-)

I thought gadgets were meant to make things quicker and easier, that video doesn't exactly 'sell' the machine. I could cut a couple of triangles in less than a minutes and they wouldn't be curled up and sticky.
