thank you for your lovely comments, I am thinking it would nice laced to a wooden stick frame (need to visit the forest for sticks). Luvswool, this started out as a huge piece 4' long, I seem to make big pieces, but this was too big even for me. So inspired by Zeds tutorial on layers, I cut up the original piece into 3 smaller ones, it was in a pre felted state, then I added layers a bit more wet felting then sewed it into fabric and machine washed it. Some layers felted others didn't, so I needle felted some areas, then added stitch. I had no idea what it was going to become, I usually just let the piece speak to me when I am doing the embellishing - I think I am an organic felter, sometimes I do try to be specific at the beginning and sometimes it works.

I love the way the piece has evolved. It's beautiful.
My grand-daughter and I have laid on our backs and looked up at the clouds and talked about what the shapes look like - it's not a bad way to look at a piece of felt either is it?

Carole, thanks for the explanation. It must take a leap of faith to work that large and design as you go along with it. Never tried that before. Very cool results

Very nice, Carole Do you have similar colours left over that you could wrap around a stick to use as a hanging stick? Or would that be too much?

hanging sticks, I love them here is one I made from a twisted hazelnut - I killed the tree :-( but was left with this - so it had to be felted and it's now hanging in my living room :-)

Interesting I have a corkscrew hazel, but I keep it small.
