I have been admiring your avatar Ann, and I think it would look great with white or another contrasting colour. I am always on the look out for what everyone thinks is the best way to mount a felted wall hanging. And then what is the easiest, most affordable way, when you cant manage the best way! Lol.
I have tried doweling inserted in a sleeve, a wood slat attached with double sided carpet tape and/or blind stitched to the the top edge. I am never sure what to recommend to beginners when they want to know a easy, but great way to hang their piece. Framing is great of course but not always possible. What is everyone's favorite mounting method? I would certainly appreciate any tips.
That sounds very neat Carole, pictures please!

I've used the dowel and slat method using bias tape and also felting loops to the back, that works well with organic edges. There are other posts on the forum with framing suggestions using canvases, stretcher frames. It's not a one size fits all. I think every piece needs to be evaluated on its own for the end purpose, value and aesthetics to determine the best framing or hanging options.

Lois my avatar is quite big and it is framed now on a beige painted canvas and framed in black. I used extra wide heavy duty Velcro to hold it on. It has no mat and no glass and that drops the cost of framing quite a bit. You will get to see it next week on the blog. It is in our guild show that starts today. I will be taking pictures on Thursday.
