When do you know when to stop? I have a strong feeling that felting just gives me the background for embellishing, which is my love, I started on this one using dyed carriers rods, dyed silk cocoons and gold and green embroidery, I am wondering if I should go completely OTT and make hundreds of leaf like shapes in different colours, and embroider skeleton shapes too, and then of course the beads have to go on to it, or try to stay in a limited colour palette. Attachment DeletedIt started off as abstract, than I thought leaves flying through the air, but now I'm seeing the picture I think it's gone a bit phallic!!! must the spring energy getting into my psyche :-)

It reminds me of those very large weird flower buds seep in some remote forest Sometimes it's good to just keep going and go 'over the top'

I still have trouble knowing when to stop. I was beading one day and talking to my daughter about this - she simply said "Mum, you do know when to stop ........ it's when you can't fit any more beads on!"
Go for it Carole.

Felt begs to be embellished. Go for it!

Carole, I have the opposite problem in stopping too soon, because I feel like I will ruin what already looks good to me. One of these days, I will go mad and go for the beads and flying leaves!

It is totally up to you. I am usually very minimalist in my embellishment but I admire the over the top stuff too. So go for it!
