I received the Swedish Lefse I ordered today. This puppy is lethal. I'm wondering now if I should have purchased the ones without points! I doubt it would be good for nuno. What do you think?

Oo-er. I think that's for making flat bread isn't it? I wouldn't fancy rolling it over my fibres.

After seeing Zara's lefse roller, I had also purchased a lefse rolling pin, pre-owned with a nice patina. I have successfully used it in my wet-felting projects with a layer of bubblewrap covering the felt. I use it as an alternative to my wooden foot massager, which is a bit lighter and is great with nuno-felting projects. Give it a try, Marilyn! No more rolling big packages!

Lyn, yes I think that's the original use. I believe Zara from Sweden mentioned using it as well as Cathy (Luvswool) so I thought I'd try it.
If it's successful, I'll have a felting machine for sale! I'm just afraid the lefse is too spiky. They had one with flat squares also. I didn't realize how sharp these points were on this one.

I guess just give it a go and see what happens?

I'll try it on some heavier fibers I just purchased. If it leaves holes, I'll return it for the flat squares one.
Cathy, I can't imagine wielding a heavier one like you have. Maybe yours isn't as pointed from wear?

Actually, my lefse rolling pin is pointed like yours, but the top of each "spike" is flattened, as yours appears to be. Mine is larger and probably heavier than yours, but I love using it because it provides the weight and friction we need for felting. Let me know how you like it!

Put your felt under some painters plastic so you don't abrade the surface.

Thanks Ann. I usually have a shower curtain on my table so I don't ruin the finish. I may also put towels down. I don't think the bubble wrap will survive long. The spikes have sharp points.

I can see how you would want to protect your table. it does look very pointy. I there were 3 on one site I went to one was between the points and the squares. I think I would be taking the sander to one that pointy.

Ann, the good think about the lefse rolling pin is that it's silent!
