Ooops. Forgot to say that the book is an Aquabee sketch book that I painted the pages with dye or Dye-na-Flow. Cut the pages out of the book by cutting between the rings of the binder. That way the pages can be re-inserted. Then color your pages and let them dry. Then two pages were connected back to back by ironing a piece of fusible in between the pages. Then you have to use an awl or something sharp to poke your holes for your stitches. It might just be easier to make your pages a certain size from felt and then put them all together. The paper really makes you see the structure of the stitch because you have to know where to punch the holes before you start.

Thanks Ruth it does like good Zed thats really great, and a great idea doing it all on a tea towel to I've decided with mine i'm doing it all in random stitches on calico and then making a book out of it all. I do have a square frame and i find that easier than a round one. So heres mine, the first page lol omg no matter what i try i cant get the pic up, from flickr or anywhere else and i'm gonna %#*%( stay calm lol TAST 2012 by FeltingFever, on Flickr

I had trouble navigating the TAST site too.
Lovely fly stitch Ruth, what a good idea to get some into your sketchbook!

I don't know, Kaz, it could have been flickr. Above the picture, it says 'Sahre' and has a little triangle, click that. Where it says Grab HTML/BB code, choose Medium underneath and make sure the BB Code underneath is clicked. If you click in that box of code, the whole lot should highlight, copy it, then paste on here.

Like your first page kaz, I haven't made a start yet. Have been too busy making junk into space rockets. Apparently we're off to Neptune any time now, just waiting for countdown! You think I'm joking???

I did some practising while I watched a film. I'm not very good at working out spacing and lengths etc, and probably should have used better fabric, but it's not too bad TAST 2012 Fly Stitch by zedster01, on Flickr

Those look great Karen and Zed. It's just a learning sample so using scrap fabric etc. is the point. I always seem to have the most problems with spacing and length when I do a stitch. Zed - I love your snowflake Karen - wonderful idea to add the french knot accents!

Those look great everyone! I have yet to try, but maybe this weekend. Instead, I actually felted a new purse yesterday and am very happy with it. I have some beading to do on it, but I like the way it turned out.
