Hello, everyone! Lately, it seems I am making nothing but dog custom orders. So I decided I might just as well share with you my latest creation. This is Sumi, an Austrian whippet who sadly passed away due to cancer. She was very, very much loved and I got commissioned to make this mini as a present for the lady's mum in April. I hope she likes it. I hope you like it, too! feltingandfiberstudio.files.wordpress.com/2016/09/nr5f5atcqatx9z7sb3iw.jpg

She's beautiful! How big is she? Do you ever do long haired dogs? Thanks for sharing.

Adorable - I'm sure she'll love it! You've captured the arch at the back end perfectly.

Oh wow, thanks for the lovely comments I'm a little over the moon right now! Let me reply to each of your questions: Pandagirl: my dogs are usually a little smaller than my hand. I'd say 12 cm long (5"?), and about 11 cm in height (just over 4"). I do long-haired breeds as well, but whippets are what I do the most because pet parents for this breed contact me a lot! I have two more to make in the next couple of weeks, and then it's another breed altogether Shepherdess: she probably will cry, since this is a memorial... I hope it's a good cry, though (a cleansing one, if you know what I mean). I confess I get a little more nervous when making memorials because my makes will be a sort of surrogate for the original pet and I want to be as accurate as possible... Carole: I use a wire armature, yes! I'm also now also wrapping said armature it in pipe cleaner, as it helps me work faster. Lyn, that's also what helps me get the little arches and such as close to possible to each breed! Again, thanks for all the lovely comments, they really made my day

Leonor, Your whippets are really lovely, and it seems to me you have definitely found your niche in the fibers marketplace. Cheers!
