The hat is not completely finished yet - I have not decided how to decorate it yet. Perhaps some green felted leaves and swirls on the ear flaps (needle felted on). Embroidery, beads...? Any suggestions?

I think stitching a border pattern with white thread would be lovely. Great shape for a hat!

what a great hat, and it's like a blank canvas for embellishing :-)

I like it just the way it is! I tried making a hat at the weekend, for a first go it wasn't too bad, the pattern needs tweaking, I think. It was a lot of work and I don't have anything to work it on, so ended up just using my own head. I wanted a bucket hat, but got a cloche type hat. Here is the template I used: feltingandfiberstudio.files.wordpress.com/2014/03/hat-template-actual-size-geometric-outlines.jpgI only have a small head, so the width was right, but I think it needed to be about 1 inch deeper and the brim a bit wider. I increased the template 133% for 25% shrinkage, and used 4 proper layers and some wisps on the last layer

I love the curl. I like needlefelt and embroidery on felt.
