Those look great Josie. Did you use prefelt shapes in the green one? I love the mottled orange color in the first scarf. I used to shy away from orange but I really like it lately.

Dear Ruth, Yes I did use pre felts in the green one. I'm starting to do more of this as I like the effect you get when using prefect vs plain fiber. I guess it all depends on what you're looking for. I tend to love bright colors so I do a lot of it, and I was really surprised at the women who love brights. On the other hand, I also use non bright colors which I find more challenging for me. In these cases, I tend not to like what I produce but find others always enjoy it.
In the last few years orange has been a popular color, and to some it's like the new "black". Last year i knitted a orange combo hat, and many of my friends are still asking me to make them a orange version.

Both scarves are beautiful. As long as people are buying, you are free to continue to play. It sounds like you produce a good mix that appeals to more than one customer profile.

I really like the orange one! I think you felted them very well! What kind of fabric did you use in them?

Hi Felicity I used 8mm silk chiffon as my base fabric. Thanks for your kind words. Josie

Then there is so problem where you can find the best deal. 5mm is a looser weave and easier to felt and you get more ruching. Its also cheaper. You may want to try the 5mm and see if it makes a difference In your work.

I love these bright colours, sometimes I think folk find it easier to express themselves with colourful accessories :-)

Thank you all for your feedback. This is much appreciated from those who are the experts. I still consider myself a newbie in this art form.
I will also see if I can find the 5mm silk and try this. I think when I ordered from Dharma i got the 8mm previously. Going into summer this 5mm would also be lighter,
best regards, Josie

Lovely scarves. are you putting wool on both sides of the silk. I am not seeing the silk. maybe my tiered eyes. I find that chiffon doesn't rushe as much as the china silk.
