I am asking on facebook. Outback is the suggestion so far but they do not have them. I don't know what they do with the short fibers form combing wool. They sell the nepps.

Outback carried merino Corriedale batts but are out of everything now. They also only had natural colors.

Strange, I just spent half a day looking for short merino batts, which I need for an upcoming class. Very expensive on Etsy. World of Wool doesn't have them. But Opulent Fibers out of Oregon has them. All colors. Page is undergoing construction so "check back later."

New England felting supply has them. I'm trying to source them locally because I believe that is what I first used to felt.

That looks a lot like some Icelandic I bought once, kind of wiry and crimpy, but not particularly 'thick'. I wonder if it's a less fine Merino. Did we ever find out why it is short? If that's the natural length or if it's broken?

Yes it looks like the short fibre merino batts are the same as the carded merino I get from Maggy at norwegianwool.co.uk I use the bleached white and black for my alien eyes - Attachment Deleted . It isn't cheap but it is lovely to work with!

Oh - I agree it is wonderful to work with but it is expensive. Glad to hear there are a few more sources out there.
