Yep, no matter where you are in the world, even with shipping, World of Wool was half the price than the next cheapest supplier. And I think that was even before I added on the other suppliers' shipping.
World of Wool is the only place I found to have such a wide variety of wool breeds, silks, other fibres etc. Sara's Texture crafts has an amazing range for a small business.

I can't speak for Facebook (I deliberately avoid it) but if you are thinking of buying wholesale World of Wool offer free shipping if you buy 10kg or more of wool (that is one VERY big box of wool!)

Thank you so much, everyone. Really. This is really helpful and I will definitely look this all up. Oh, and has anyone tried Norwegian Wool? They seemed to have nice fleeces as well, but I didn't look at their prices. World of Wool will be better, I suppose

I confess I have never used their wool but I have met Maggie and Gary a few times and they seem to be a lovely and sincere couple.

Great, that's also what I'm looking for. I want quality and friendliness, basically, what I am willing to offer customers myself when on the other side of the transaction. Thanks!

Hi Leonor, check out norwegianwool.co.uk for norwegian C1 and carded merino - both my favourites for needle felting, plus www.sarastexturecrafts.com/ - Sara has an interesting selection of raw fleece. Ok just read other comments properly! Yes I can thoroughly recommend Maggy at Norwegian wool - even an order sent to me in Finland is good value.

Thanks for everything, Amanda and Zed I am in the process of trying to find out about starting wholesale orders and this is very useful. Amanda, if you don't mind me asking, how do you find wool batting as opposed to carded merino? I much prefer the coarser wools for needle felting and am always intrigued when I find someone who likes the "finer" ones

Leonor, the carded merino is the only merino I would needle felt with! I tend to use it mainly for small things like eyes, beaks etc and it is brilliant as the fibres are short, great for pulling off little tufts of wool, and felt in really tidily. It also wet felts in a flash! I have tried merino in tops/ roving but gave up and now use either the Finn wool I get here in Finland or the C1( which is my favourite)

Ruth, those wool batts are gorgeous! That's the type of wool I'd prefer to work with... I find carded merino a bit "slippery" if that makes sense, Amanda? Or maybe just the fibre I've come across... Care to share an image of some work you've done with it?

I love the Norwegian c1 for wet felting and people really like it for needle felting. The problem is it's so expensive.

Well it's new England felting supply. Everything there is expensive. Someone else must sell sort fiber merino.
