I made a few samples yesterday to try out my new wool shipment from RH Lindsay. This was great wool to work with, felted quickly, looks good and feels substantial. This was the least expensive wool I have ever purchased--10 pounds at $7.90 per pound, plus shipping. (Thanks for the recommendation, Ruth!) I added to the top some silk roving I purchased in Wisconsin at the 2012 Felters' Symposium.

Looks good - it isn't as soft as merino but has many uses for functional items. I like the color of that silk roving.

Great. Always nice when you fined wool you really like and it's inexpensive.

Yes, thanks, I think I will be more comfortable experimenting with this wool, and I do have plenty of merino for special projects which require softness. Granted, all of the merino came in pretty colors, and the wool I purchased is all white--but that means I get the challenge to dye!

Yes, Cathy one thing leads to another. :-) It's all fun! Do you have any idea what you'll do with all that wool besides experiment. The silk roving is pretty. Have fun with the dye challenge.

That turned out nice I get our English 56s, I like the way it felts and is a good base.
