Very nice. Good job! Was the scarf pre hemmed? I see a nice ruffle on the sides. How does the back look? I always love the ruching the silk does as the wool pulls it together. Was it merino or a combination of wools? I'm glad you had a good experience this time using the tips and suggestions. I learn something new each time I do one.

Congratulations! I'm glad that all the advice was helpful for you. I too would love to see a photo of the silk side.

Wonderful scarf! I hope this spurs you on to make some more. Trying out new things really is exciting and it's a bonus when you like the finished item.

Lovely colour choice, the blue and yellow/orange are particularly pretty, and glad to hear you were successful, do you know what you did differently that made the difference?

I did just about everything differently, including cooler water, wool on both sides (fully covered one side and "striped" wool across the other side (see photo below). Rubbed wool and scarf with my foot massager (photos on this forum, maybe under wet felting with a sander). More GENTLE hand rubbing (a la Zed's U-tube video), plus spinning in the washer BUT NO ROLLING! Seriously. I consider this a successful "group" project! Thanks again all. You may see the green "wide stripes" or bands that I added to the back. The silk scarf was pre-hemmed, Marilyn! And that's a good thing, since the wool does not cover all edges. Am already thinking about my next nuno project! feltingandfiberstudio.files.wordpress.com/2016/08/jwyt_rm8xllrywhckt4n.jpg

Oh, I was very happy about the ruffling at both ends of the scarf, and I did use all merino wool.

Thanks, Zed! It's thrilling to find success where you previously found failure, and it has invigorated me to try another nuno felt project!

You all may remember my earlier difficulties with nuno-felting my orange scarf (pre-Forum days), after which presenting my case, I received much sage advice on the Blog and Forum. Having been raised in the era of "waste not, want not," I decided to have another go at the orange silk chiffon scarf. I pulled off all the loose bits that had not felted and was left with some bits that were felted. I laid out wisps of merino wool in white, yellow and tangerine and did the traditional method of nuno-felting. This is the result: IMG_5315 by catwycliff, on Flickr I am happy with the scarf--definitely an improvement and am hoping that someone who loves sunny colors will wear it some day! Not giving up on the nuno-felting, because I would like to achieve more ruching effects than I did on this sample.

Gosh, I am just thinking it might go with that orange cotton top I so boldly wore while touring Greece last year!
