I know this is a little creepy, but I am almost finished with my Pampas Grass art and I have been painting bees and beetles with wood glue and attached them to part of my elements. The bee was too fragile to stand alone, so I glued him in a button cover and wrapped it with black tulle. The Beetles were under some furniture on our sunroom floor. We don't use this room when the weather gets cold, so they must have been dead since the fall. They were quite dried out. I really coated them in the heavy wood glue and they are very hard. I glued them down with E6000 glue and they are very permanent now.

Very cool Judy, Nothing like using the real thing in your work.

I love the variegated colored leaves. Nice job. I may have to start looking around for creatures to use, too. :-). I do have some silk worms that are petrified. Hmm.

Well, I figure that when our friends depart, their work is done. Since some of them manage to stick around in death, we can repurpose them. My family says I am crazy, but no, I think I am perfectly logical.
