For the second time now I have won a prize on my work called "Ice Age." The first time was in a quilt show where it won first place in the art quilt category. This time I entered it in an art competition and won the "Juror's Choice Award." I have also been asked to be one of the artists at the Southwest Missouri High School Art Teachers Association Workshop. I have been asked to teach some classes at a quilt guild in Eureka Springs, Arkansas and am putting together a Color Class for the education dept. of our quilt guild. I am telling you this because I am really pleased to have suddenly become so popular; but I want you also to look at your later years as being better than your younger. Artists only get better with age. I am VP of a senior's art guild. Some of our members are in their 90's. They have life threatening diseases to deal with every day. But I wonder at the fine quality of their artwork. It has changed my whole outlook on old age. I want to pass this on to you for consideration.

Congratulations Judy! Thanks for the inspiration. I'm just beginning to re-explore my lifelong passion for art in many forms and am having a ball.

It's so good to be in demand never mind the age! Nice to know that older people are so active in arts. And congratulations to you on being very busy!

Congratulations Judy. It seems to me that all the guilds are swelling in numbers as people retire and now have the time to pursue their passions and or try new things.

Congrats Judy! I think it is wonderful that older people are involved in the arts. The stitch classes I take are nearly all people over 50.

I wasn't saying it was old - just that it wasn't 20 - 30 somethings.

In some ways, I like old age. I know that I don't look like I used to. But I think that my understanding of people and things is so much better now. Wish I could have had more wisdom when I was younger and raising children, I guess it is actually true. You know that old saying, "You can't put an old head on a young body." How many times did I hear my grandmother say that?
