I was a little annoyed just now. When logging in I was asked to submit my D.O.B. before I was allowed to continue. For security reasons I never submit my birthdate. Unable to progress, I submitted a false date. I'm sure this demand for birthdate has not come from the admin of this site, so who is responsible??

I hadn't heard about this Judith. I'm sure it is some new "security" feature. We don't have anything to do with how the log in process works. Sorry.

No need to apologise Ruth, I didn't think for one moment that it was anything to do with our own admin.

That is very strange. If it happens again try reloading the site to see if it goes away. I had something similar happen on another site ages ago and reloading got rid of it.

I had the same thing happen. I wasn't happy about entering my birthday but I did because I wanted to log on.
However, I've just been into my profile and altered my birthday to Jan 1st 1924. Actually, that date does reflect how old I feel some days!
I've also opted for 'hidden' so that other forum members don't send me a 90th birthday card next January!!

I'd better cancel that order for a zimmer I got that the other day, too. I just enter 6/6/66 for every site that 'requires' a birthdate. Google are seriously peeing me off these days with all their info grabbing and linking sites etc. A few years ago you could have a youtube account with any email address, then they required a gmail address, but you could still log on youtube with one and gmail with another, then they forced us to use the email address we're logged in with or have to constantly sign out, now they keep trying to G plus everything, force 'real names' to be used, and when I sign out and back in again to gmail, it gives me a youtube profile with my email address as the name, who wants that. Hotmail is getting as bad, forcing me to give an alternate email address for security. Security? The reason I have different email addresses with no personal info is security, linking everything is the opposite. Rant over

My husband had the same problem with hotmail the other day. He was locked out of his hotmail and they said they had sent him a code to his hotmail address which of course he couldn't access............ After some considerable time he did manage to get in. It reminded me of that song:- "There's a hole in my bucket......................

Spot on with the song Judith!
I had trouble with my broadband and the recorded message on the telephone helpline advised me to visit their website to get help. Aaaarrgh!

Lyn isn't that the stupidest thing. Everything says that now. Go to our site and use the self help to fix the problem of not being able to get into our site. It's a mind set. I had the tech kid phone me from the shop to tell me they couldn't test my modem because they have wyfi. I pointed out to him that he was talking to me on a phone so they must have a phone line. you have to laugh or you would cry.

Oh my goodness. Google is swallowing up everything I do on the computer. I absolutely HATE Google plus. Don't ever sign up for it. But I am stuck with it because so much of what I do is with Google hosting. I just bought a Samsung Android and had to have gmail to use it. Am I just getting old? Don't young people notice these things with all the tek stuff they do?

Yes we notice but we want to be on line. I hate some of the Google stuff. I liked reader so they shut it down. I had an android phone powered by Google but I didn't need a Gmail account or Google plus to use it. it made it more difficult but I could do it. I ma not sure who is worse Google or Microsoft. I refuse to store my email and write my email and important docs info in the cloud. I do not always have access to the cloud. sometimes my internet goes down and I like to use my computer anyway. It asked me for my birth date too. I put in jan 1 1900.
