I went to a new (to me) our door show at a local festival. it was a nice weekend for the most part. WE had a few showers but not enough to keep people away. There were not enough buyers. Can there be enough buyers? I did pretty well so that was ok. It was a pleasant weekend talking to lots of people. I struggle with what to sell in the summer. What do you sell in the summer? What do you say to people who say oh we will have to remember this for Christmas, where will you be? Of course I tell them where I will be and give them book marks or what ever I have for the events. I wish I had something to say that would encourage them to buy now not later.

I started to look for craft fairs/markets a while ago, but had no replies from people I contacted. Someone gave me a few good links though and said to join the etsy team for here. My neighbour told me the other day there was something about a week ago in our local park, I never heard about it though. Anyway Maybe you could tell them that if you still had stock in Winter that you were trying to sell now, you probably wouldn't bother. Offer a discount if they buy two or more.

I do tell them I may not have it later. That happened with a hat this weekend. A young Japanese tourist came back 3 times to look at a hat and even brought her friends once. Then asked if I would be there the next day. She came back right as I was packing up the next day and it was gone. I was sad about it but people are always asking if you will be there later or the next day and never come back.

I would say "Oh, I have lots of people that buy for Christmas early, that way they get exactly what they want and not just what I have left at the last minute. It helps out with your budget too because you can spread out your Christmas expenses."

Usually, if they walk away, they never come back. That is just how it works. We are getting so much rain that every outdoor event is being canceled. And lightning is becoming another factor. The big fair in town has had almost no outside events. That is really a bummer for the vendors.

I say about 1/4 come back. Taking visa really helps. Several event now get an ATM machine in. They also help.
