Thank you Zed for the welcome. I will be looking around to see what folks have used as armature for wet-felting, say, for a "mountain" shape. What others use to keep that "mountain" sturdy for children's play. Below is one I did for a "secret waterfall", using synthetic foam for armature. I would like some other more fluid shaped armature, perhaps an armature that drapes, not sure what yet. Attachment DeletedHave a lovely day! Welcome, glad you joined us. I have not made a mountain before but perhaps you could cover a bean bag type chair with felt? It might be too big but it would be moldable.

I wonder if you make the shape and then stuffing it with seconds or other cheap wool to make it sturdy but soft. You can make a basic cone take on lumps by pulling parts to stretch it a bit after its felted.

How big? Does it have to be solid? I was thinking something like a volcano, could be made like a vessel, it will squish if leaned on, but will pop right back up and is re-shapable.
