I finished stitching my shadow applique sample. I haven't finished the edges yet but I have to do that at home by wrapping the silk organza around the edge and fusing it to the back with fusible and the iron. Not sure why I don't have an iron here at work PICT9562 by fiberruth, on Flickr PICT9567 by fiberruth, on Flickr

Thanks everyone and here I was thinking that my stitches weren't very even. I have to keep remembering to live life imperfectly Zed, the green pod parts are a different fabric that are cut out and then fused to the red/orange background. Then a layer of organza and then the stitching.

Hand stitching is something that must be practiced to be good at it. Yours look a lot better than mine, as I don't do it enough to be good at it. However, I know a lot about fusing. So, I am halfway there.

Your hand stitiching is just right.
If you aim for 'perfection' you may as well use a machine. The organic look of hand-stitching is very attractive.
I love the design and colours.

Thanks Lyn. I'm sure no one would mistake my hand stitching for the "perfection" of machine stitching.
