I really like Jan's challenge, although it may be too sustained an effort for my lifestyle at the moment and I am not sure that I will manage to complete it. Of course, now you got me, 😜, I will have to complete at least the challenge that I kind of instigated!!!

I am not sure how to fix your glasses problem with felt but here are 2 things that might fix the problem for you. This clips to any clothing. they use them at the care home so the are no pins.
this would probably clip to your waist band or belt.

Thank you, Ann, for the practical suggestions about pin glasses holders! In the meantime, I have made my own felt holder! I wanted to post it on the website, but my mobile doesn't co-operate, it says I have not enough memory to go on. I am posting the entry here to defy it. Here is my glasses holder: it's wet felted undyed merino tops in light grey and dark grey, embellished with silk carrier rods and red and white eri silk swirls. www.dropbox.com/s/8qk2omfuk15ea2p/IMG_20230116_142325.jpg?dl=0This is the other side: www.dropbox.com/s/vuxesrf8wigdy43/IMG_20230116_142345.jpg?dl=0I designed it from a regular flat glasses pouch that I had and I like, but I wanted to make it a bit bigger, because that one is way too narrow for some of my glasses. www.dropbox.com/s/k5hcycfncrwty5j/IMG_20230116_142334.jpg?dl=0As I wanted it to be tied to my waist, I made two long wet felted cords that I can tie as a belt or, if I want, I can tie on my shoulder to make it a cross shoulder pouch. Here it is on my waist: www.dropbox.com/s/ixq5qlobj6z7j99/IMG_20230116_142515.jpg?dl=0Thank you so much for having set this challenge: I kept saying that I was going to make me this glasses holder but kept putting it off, because! I am so glad that I have found the time to make it at last, I am sure I would have kept postponing forever. Now on to the second part of the Quarter Challenge! :-)

Way to go Caterina! Your felt pouch is very practical and one of a kind. I love the natural colors although I think the photos show it much more blue than it's true color??

Yes, you are right, Ruth: the colour is way less blue than there. It is a natural light grey, the merino is not dyed, so it has all the different shades of grey, and of course I had some migration from the darker grey of the first layers. The darker grey is almost black but not really, and, being natural undyed merino, that also has different greys in it. And some of the lighter grey migrated in it of course. I am very satisfied with the colour overall, and glad that you like it! although I was hoping for more wrinkles in the silk carrier rods, but that is my first time with them and maybe I left them too thick in places...it's not that easy to peel away layers from the rods as I assumed. I soaked them in water for a while, but maybe not enough, as parts were still not moist through.

Silk carrier rods take a long time to get soaked enough to separate them into thin layers. The thinner layers definitely work better felting in to the wool. Thanks for the photo that shows the colors better.

Thanks for the photo that shows the colors better. I soaked them maybe for half an hour. How much time do you estimate they need soaking to get thin layers?

The pouch turned out great Caterina! I'm sure it will get a lot of use and being able to wear it two ways is a good idea

It is actually easy to get thin layers from the carrier rods if you stretch them first. Do this dry, just get hold of each short end and pull, gently, until the rod is several times longer and you should find it easier to peel it apart. I've never actually tried soaking them so I don't know which is the easiest way. I suppose it depends on the effect you're trying to get. When I want more wrinkles I'd use bits of fabric rather than the carrier rods, though using silk tops gives a more cirrus cloud effect.
