Sarah, it came today!!! I love it and will describe it to everyone until photos are available. It is a beautiful felted snowflake on a piece of felt about 8x10 inches. The flake itself is very beautiful and straight (how did you do that Sarah?) and there are tiny clear beads stitched on for that icy effect. I really love it and thank you very much Sarah. I sent some photos to Ruth hoping that she can get them posted for me. One is of this beautiful felt snowflake and the other two are of a real snowflake one my jacket and a very strange icicle that is in my window! For those of you who are having a green Christmas, there really are snowflakes!!

Thanks Ruth! Sarah's (blueberry) beautiful felt snowflake looks just like the real one!! The felted flake will last a lot longer though. Thank you Sarah, I hope your gift gets there soon.
As I am writing this we in the US are dealing with yet another horrific mass murder in a grammar school in New Town, Connecticut. So far 27 people are dead 18 of which are children. I am just sick and have to turn the TV off. What is happening to us a people? I just don't understand. I don't believe in the Maya calander but something has got to change! Help!

I am glad that I grew up in a different era of time. When we thought of evil, we saw the face of Adolf Hitler. It seems that the evil is multiplying in our current times.

Lovely felted snowflake - and you're right about those lovely straight lines Like the icicle and snowflake pics too. We've had very heavy frosts and some fog which made the spiders webs look like lace. I'll post some pics later in the Weather Challenge. Peace on earth, goodwill to all men! 'Tis the season - supposedly!

Gorgeous felted snowflake! It's been lashing down with rain here, as usual. The story about the school massacre is all over the new here too. The US baffles the rest of the world, I'd have thought most people would want a ban on most guns, but people are saying teachers should be armed. Arm the kids too, eh?

It was a very sad day. I don't mind discusing this ( probably a good thing to do ) but perhaps the holiday exchange is not the place. I will start a thread in the general discusion forum.

I love snowflakes and the frost patterns you get on windows. We get them on our old windows. Modern windows don't have the condensation problems the old ones have. The up side of an old house.

I live in a modern house now, less maintenance, fewer draughts etc. but I miss the character of our 200 year old house. The thick walls which were way off being vertical, the chimneys which were easily big enough for Santa Claus and yes Ann, those beautiful window 'paintings' by Jack Frost!
