I wish I were creating, but stage 4 lung cancer and the meds have robbed me of energy and stamina. I’m not saying this for sympathy, it’s true. I love seeing what everyone is doing it keeps me in touch with Felting. Thank you. I keep hoping things will change, but for now just staying alive and living every day is my creativity.. Please keep creating and keeping me involved. Thank you again. Hello Marilyn! My memory isn't what it used to be but I think in Ruth's original post about 'having a daily dose of fibre' she mentioned that even just reading for 5 mins about creative stuff counted. So being on the forum and reading the forum blog counts as your daily dose of fibre!

Thanks Lindsay! It is what it is. I’m fortunate to have good meds, doctors, friends, family and support.

I’m entering my 3rd and final week of Fiona Duthie’s Ink on Cloth class. I’ve had some problems setting the ink so am eagerly awaiting the arrival of a new bamboo steamer tomorrow. This week I will be completing and extending what I’ve already learned and adding some colour, which should be fun.

I loved doing that Fiona Duthie workshop but still haven't done anything with it. In fact since lockdown a year ago I have had little inclination to create anything. I think this has been due to not doing any events (all mine were cancelled one after the other) and not being able to teach face to face for so much of last year. It seemed there was no incentive. I did finally manage to finish two pieces - both quite large and complictated. Don't seem to be able to work out how to add a picture though!

There are some instructions at the top of the forum page under 'Frequently Asked Questions' but if you still can't manage I believe Ruth can step in and post them for you. The lockdown has split us into two camps. Some artists just can't find their mojos while others are making like mad.

Working on the largest tree on my wall hanging today. I have to baste down fabric and cords before I start machine stitching. Not my favorite thing to do, basting, but it seems to be the only way to create the look I want. So basting day it is. Here's a sneak peek of a small portion of the wall hanging. Fabric laid out on painted canvas with stitched cords. Now needs to be basted and free motion stitched.

Looks really interesting Ruth. The big picture should be interesting.
Flights either Ruth or I can add pictures if you can't figure it out.
My dose today was getting my blog post ready and getting a bunch of small felt balls to felt.

Yesterday I dyed some Corriedale in blues, greens and purples in preparation for a bag. When it’s dry and I can decide what I want more of I will do another batch, probably lighter (with weaker dye) so I have lots of different shades. I’ve also painted basic patterns on some plain coloured silk which I will use to create surface interest.
