The comments now have to be opened from the top of the post. It's right under the title. Just click on the number of comments and they will show at the end of the post.
In the comment box, there are two small boxes underneath where you write your comment that can be checked so that you are notified with new comments. Make sure when you write a comment that this box is not checked.
If none of that works, WordPress.com should be the answer. You can look at your account with WordPress and there is a place to change all your notification settings. There are four different pages on this so you need to look at all of them. Perhaps that is what you already did. If so, that should be how to fix it.
I'm sorry that you're having issues with these changes. I hope that we have managed to work out the bugs.

The other way to see comments is to click the title of the post and it opens up that post and its comments on a page by its self. That's always the on the old theme too when I wanted to make or read comments. When you did that on the old theme the top picture used to change to the featured image but on this Theme that doesn't happen. I agree having the comments button at the bottom makes more sense but I don't think we can move it.

I usually end up on the Studio's home page when I click on the emailed notification and I could not find anything about comments for a post on that page - I still can't but your tip to click on the post's title does indeed get me to the right spot - if I keep scrolling down past the reminders of previous posts - which I now know to do. We're getting there! Ann

I am glad you are getting there. Part of the problem is it can look different on different browsers and tablets and phones. and different again in the WordPress app.

Hi Ruth, I've just come across something else odd about the Studio web pages - specifically the various galleries. I was killing time and thought I'd have a browse. First I went to the Other Fibres/fabrics gallery. There were lots of pictures shown on the gallery page but I found I wasn't able to follow through clicking from one picture to another, there seemed to be some appearing which weren't on the main page but I wasn't able to go to the next picture on the main page without going back to the main page first if you get me. Then I spotted that some of the pictures appeared to be linked to a post, so I had a look at the post and then I realised that each of the post's pictures were the extra pictures I was seeing from the Gallery. I thought I had cracked it, but when I went to another page in the gallery - the Other Fibres/Silk gallery - I started to see pictures from the synthetics gallery and then the hand stitching gallery, just by moving from one silk image to the next. I think there may be some wires crossed there somewhere. If the intention is that the gallery should behave like the fabrics gallery, that is including pictures from a post "behind" an individual picture in the gallery, it might be an idea to add a note to that effect on the main gallery page do you think? Hope this helps Ann

Thanks for letting us know. Shepherdessann is planning on going through some of the older pages as they were created ten years ago now. Probably some of the links in galleries are not working correctly. Everytime WordPress "improves" their software, things change. We don't check everything and then these types of issues arise.

I will try to look at them. I had to relink the pages so they may not work properly anymore. I think I may have to re-do all of them.

I have the same problem with Windows. Why Microsoft has to "improve" things I don't know. If it ain't broke don't fix it! It seems these improvements are causing you nothing but trouble. Grrr!

I will work on it but it will be slow. You really need to be in the right mood to tackle it.
