I love them, but I freaking at them at the same time. Core is toy stuffing (I think it was £5 for a kilo and a half), topped with dog hair. This one took around 12 hours.

He's wonderful! I like the base you've sat him on too.

Great structure. What breed is he representing?

Thank you bot x Yes, I love the suitably rustic, foresty feel the wood slices provide as a base. This brown hair came out of a random assortment from a groomer so have no idea which breed, unfortunately. As for the bear subspecies I looked at multiple for reference, so he is a bit of a hodgepodge of influences. Never doing antlers again, I swear.

Wow, these are both great. Needle felting does take a lot of time to get it right. I imagine the antlers were difficult and time consuming.

Great sculptures, Littlewolf. Good that you have a source of hair and you’re up-cycling a potentially waste product too.

They are fabulous. You have a lot of talent. I can't make real looking things.

Thank you all. Yes, I like the feeling of using something that would otherwise go to waste. Especially when I had my cat, his hair was so beautiful and silky I hated binning it until I figured out what I could do with it.
The sort of hair I get varies widely though. Sometimes it is nice and long and fuzzy/fluffy and sometimes it is topcoat, wiry or with a lot of slip, or clippings less than 1cm long, so it can take a lot of time to evenly cover something. I can tell you right now the antlers took at least 4 out of 25 hours total to cover, but I am proud of it even if I haven't managed to sell the accursed thing.
Thanks in particular Shepherdess, I am nowhere near the level of realism some people manage to achieve but given that the reindeer was the first sculpture I made I'm quite happy with it and the semi-realistic style.
