I figure I should put all my projects in one thread to avoid spamming the board. This was the first purse I ever made. I really don't understand sewing machine or sewing patterns so just made it up as I went along and hand stitched it all.

Your cat purse ins wonderful. most wet felted things like purses I do over a resist so there is no sewing except for adding the frame.

Thank you guys x I will give the resist technique a go as it could significantly cut down construction time. Do you also line your purses, Shepherdess?

Wonderful cat purse. I don't care for sewing construction much either. I agree with Ann that using a resist will cut down the work and sewing needed. Some people nuno felt the inside with silk or other lightweight fabric for a lining. Then you don't have to sew it.

I quite like sewing with handmade felt as 'yardage' - sometimes it can be easier than using a resist. Ruth's idea of making a lining as you go is a time and effort saver.

I usually do Nuno felt on the inside so it is self lining

Here's the purse in my avatar. It's German Shepherd. I wanted splotches of different colours so tried to arrange them in a nice pattern before spraying but crazy how different the colours look before the hair is compacted and meshes together. One day I will experiment with silk (and maybe actual wool, I've never used it) but I am homeless and struggling, so I just have free fibre from the grooming parlour and donors for now. I appreciate it so much.

Cat hair pincushion with dog hair paw detail And gorgeous Keeshond; I love this colour. The lining was from recycled clothes scraps.

These are all great. Glad you are able to work with the dog and cat hair so it's economical for you.
