Ok, I can see the dropbox picture on the forum. It is a needle felted on wool, picture of some irises from my garden, done as part of work for the felt group that I am with, meeting up weekly, although the classes are via zoom at the moment. I have added some hand stitching with embroidery thread on top. I have not decided what to do with it yet, although I am thinking a cushion cover with a linen border at the front.

The irises are beautiful Charley and I love the hand stitching. It would make a pretty cushion cover.

The irises are very nice. I like the stitching. I wouldn't have thought to do it like that.

I agree with the others. Very pretty and I do like the sound of the cushion cover with a linen boarder.

Very nice irises. Good that you are still meeting up even if by Zoom. I was wondering how the needle felting will hold up to use over time as a cushion cover?

Thank you all for looking. Yes, Ruth, I'm not sure how it will hold up really, but I think/hoping that the stitching will help it stay in place. I have washed it once, by hand - before stitching, so keeping fingers crossed. I think I will put some stabiliser on the back too, and I am hoping that the cushion will have 'gentle' use.

I added some machine stitching to the irises and stems; for the border I used some usable pieces of linen from the legs of worn out pants, stabilized the whole, and backed with a square from an old sheet. The back of the cushion is a piece of greyish Ikea fabric picked up from a charity shop last year. The cushion form was similarly found! I am very happy with the result.

What a fabulous cushion! The colour of the linen border is perfect - it makes the irises 'pop' - and I love the way you sourced your materials.

What a great result. And good for you for up cycling your fabric.
