I recently read on a Facebook spinning group about someone who had some ingeo corn tops (sold by WoW) that she had bought a couple of years ago which had disintegrated in the packet! Has anyone else experienced this? I have used corn fibres as a surface decoration on some of my felted scarves and am worried that this could happen, although I am not sure whether the corn fibre I had was the same as I no longer have any and I think it might have come from a different supplier. I'm off to check my scarves now, only trouble is that as I used various fibres (eg viscose, soya and crab) on different scarves, I am not totally sure which is which!

I haven't used corn fiber so I don't know the answer. That seems like a really bad thing though if that happens.

I don't use it but I would ask wow about it if it came from them. I know the plastic bags made form corn disintegrate. What is crab fiber or is that a typo.

What is crab fiber or is that a typo. It wasn’t a typo (for once, as I often end up typing weird things due to poor typing skills and autocorrect suggestions). It’s made from the shells of crab and other crustaceans. They don’t seem to sell it any more but I think it came from Wingham Wool. I don’t have any of it left either so can’t check.

Hi Dottyhen. Like other members I’ve not used corn fibre (Ingeo)....yet. This is a timely warning, so thank you. I would certainly check with WoW (your supplier) regarding the longevity of this, and perhaps other fibres you may have purchased. I'm now off to check for any info on the internet.

I saw that on Facebook. It's not something I've used, but I'm pretty sure that zed has done.
