The Water lily didn’t sell so we took our own pieces away. We might offer it again if we have another joint exhibition but I will probably sell the coasters separately. I could easily make more if needed.

A no-sale is not a reflection of the quality of the piece of art - the water lily didn't sell simply because the buyer wasn't in the room.
I once had a large item for sale on ebay. It didn't sell. I re-listed. It didn't sell. I re-listed then the buyer was in the room. Well - more than one buyer - the item sold for more than I expected yet the first two times it seemed that no-one wanted it!

This is sooo true. Our CWA group has a cake stall at a local monthly market and we have given up trying to predict what people will buy, the popularity of items changes from month to month.
